With the summer being as bad as it has been here in the UK, a road trip was called for to track down summer. With Culinary delights and fantastically smooth wines around every corner in France what better place to spend a week. We hopped last minute on the overnight ferry with Stenna line to beautiful France. Thankfully the next morning we had tracked down the illusive summer that has been evading us all this year and the gloriously sunny road opened up in front of us as we rolled off the ferry. Two hours later, Le Mans may not be a first choice for most, but behind its facade of motor racing legacy lies a 16th century old town which is one of the best preserved in the world. The setting to many films and ever popular still to the film industry, you can see why with its historic cobble stone alley ways and narrow twisting streets leading up to a stunning cathedral at the top. It was the perfect starting point on a road trip to discover one of The many regions of France.
